God's Ride Along

Me: Hey God.

God: Hello, My love.

Me: I'm worried.

God: About what?

Me: That I'm getting worse. Every day I feel like I'm disappearing in front of the world. I'm fading away. Eventually I'll become invisible to everyone and will just be a ghost bumping around.

God: You are a little confused about what 's happening to you. You aren't turning into a ghost and you are certainly not becoming invisible.

Me: What's happening to me, then?

God: You are just starting to be more transparent. Look, I can see your heart. What's actually happening is that you are in the process of taking off all of your disguises that you've collected over the years. You aren't fading away - you are simply shedding the parts of yourself that aren't authentic.

Me: I'm not disappearing?

God: No. You are becoming more real than you ever have been before. Your ego is the only part of you that is starting to fade.

Me: It hurts...

God: I know. Hold on. I love you. It will be worth it. Let all the barren and dry things in your life that don't matter fall off in the breeze. Stop clinging to what doesn’t work for you anymore. Let it all go.

Me: This is all so terrifying.

God: Don't fret, My love. I won't let you vanish. I will hold you in My hands until it's over.

Me: Change is hard.

God: You aren't changing. You are just letting yourself become who you were born to be in the first place.

Me: Who is that?

God: A work of creation that I love beyond all measure. My shining light in the world. My hands on Earth. My pottery. My art. My poem. My song. That is who you are and it will all soon be unmistakable to you.

Me: So, I'm not vanishing?

God: No - you are becoming!
