Higher Purpose Training

December 2, 2015, was a helacious day in my hometown of San Bernardino. That day and the following months after were rather trying times for me and my family. I still think about families of the 14 lives lost and 22 injured and how this atrocity rocked our community.

10 years later I look back and see the journey I’ve been through as a result of that day that led me into fi****ms training, EMS, security, emergency management and public safety.

I’ve had the privilege of training thousands of people to stop killing and preserve lives. Every year I look back at where I’ve gone and what I’ve done because of what happened on that day. Today, we remember and stay committed to loving one another and training to preserve life.

Five years ago today, I was promoted to be a Front Sight range master. For the next two years after, I ran ranges with amazing teams of instructors. Thinking about my time there gives me a bittersweet feeling.

I miss my time on the rocks a lot. Front Sight is where I got a lot of my formative training as a defender and gained the bulk of my experience as a full-time fi****ms instructor. I had the amazing privilege of training thousands of students from all walks of life.

I didn’t always agree with the methodology we taught or how the school was run, which led to it’s demise. What I am grateful for is all the amazing people I met there, the lives I was able to positively impact and the amazing memories.

The training and the experience I received there set the foundation for my public safety career and the quality training Higher Purpose Training offers today.

Although we’ve put some things on pause, keep watching. We’re coming back and we’ve got good stuff coming soon.

Hey Fam! It’s been a long while since we’ve posted anything on here. A lot has been happening in my personal life. However, I had an opportunity to share on the Podcast last week and my interview aired today. Head on over and give it a listen.

Had an awesome opportunity to train on the range with .acosta.jr of . Great training revisiting the fundamentals. My goal was to knock some rust off and have a professional eye nip in the bud any inefficiencies. It was 🥵 out here at 108°, but it was so worth it. If you’re a protector of life, you owe it to yourself and those you protect to train every chance you get.
