- someone available to work 10 hour overnight shifts or 5+ hour daytime shifts or a combo of both.
- someone who is passionate about supporting new moms without any judgment or bias influencing that support.
- someone who is flexible and dependable
- someone who either has older children, no children, or extremely reliable childcare
- someone willing to learn and become an expert in postpartum recovery and babies or pregnancy and birth or even both!
- someone that is willing to pay $595 for their training, $75/year membership fee to the certification organization, pay for their CPR certification, and $200ish/year for their liability insurance
- a self-starter that will treat this like a business that they own, not treat it like a JOB
- a person that will work as an independent contractor for my company - so, you own your own business and do work for me
- someone who is kind, compassionate, fun to be around, and excited to start a new career

When I took my doula trainings, the only thing on my mind was the doula piece! I hadn’t even considered the business side of things!! Thank goodness ProDoula knew that about me and included an extensive business section in our training!! Had I walked out of my training without talking about that pesky business part, I can guarantee you that I would have struggled and likely given up before I even gave my doula biz a real try!

2020 was a crazy year, but even with all of its challenges, my business had its best year ever!! Our gross was 6 figures!! I dreamed, planned, and worked my butt off to make that happen, and ProDoula had my back the whole way! You can do this!! And I can help!

As a doula trainer, the business section is literally one of my favorite parts of the training!! I love seeing the creative light bulbs begin to glow as we talk about business names, marketing ideas, and actually getting clients!

When I first took my ProDoula training 6 years ago, I was so excited to start working and signed on with an agency immediately! They wanted someone with full availability, so I quit all my jobs and waited for work. I waited for a whole YEAR, you guys…and nothing, nada, zip. Not one client. I left that agency when my contract was up and thought, gosh darn it…I love this career, or the idea of this career, and I really want to make it work. I dusted myself off and put my big girl panties on and started my own freaking agency. I consulted with Randy, I networked, I built my social media presence, and I networked some more. And do you know what??!? Today I receive 3 inquiries a day about my business!! That’s 84 inquiries a month - people who want to know more about me, my business, and how we can support them! There have been ups and downs, but I have never given up. I still consult with Randy, because I know I can do better, rise higher, tackle more, fine tune things, etc.
