Round of applause to our API Club and Multicultural Club for bringing everyone together on the grassy knoll for an afternoon of henna, creativity, culture, conversation, and a well-deserved break in the day.

A milestone worthy of an album cover. 🤍 The White Coat Ceremony marks an important moment in the journey to becoming a dentist. The white coat represents more than clinical training. It carries expectations of professionalism, integrity, compassion, service, and the responsibility students assume as they care for others.

And while we take that responsibility seriously, we can still have a little fun celebrating the people stepping into it.So, in honor of this year’s White Coat Ceremony, we gave some of our newest white coats the album-cover treatment.

Congratulations to our DMD Class of 2029 and DDS Class of 2028 on reaching this milestone. Consider this your official release.

This is what our community mission looks like in action. Today, more than 60 UNLV dental students joined volunteer faculty and staff to provide dental care through two of our community outreach programs: Saturday Smiles and the Sgt. Clint Ferrin Memorial Clinic.

🇺🇸 The Ferrin Clinic was founded in 2007 by dental student John Ferrin in memory of his brother, Sgt. Clint Ferrin. The clinic serves veterans with limited income and no dental insurance. Held several times each year, it has provided treatment to hundreds of vets.

😁 Saturday Smiles provides basic and restorative dental care to individuals who qualify based on income, helping patients regain comfort, confidence, and oral health.

We are grateful for everyone who gave their time and talents today and demonstrated some of the very best of the UNLV School of Dental Medicine.

Learning together — Dr. Moni Ahmadian, Dr. Sonal Shah and DDS students in the Class of 2028 met with students in the UNLV School of Nursing School’s Family Nurse Practitioner program and demonstrated head and neck exams that dentists use to detect potential oral cancers. This was part of the collaborative Interprofessional Education day between the two schools.

A little about our newest class:
🦷 79 students selected from 2,230 applications
📍 52% are Nevada residents.
🎓 100% graduated with a 4-year degree or higher & 3.75 average GPA.
🌎 They speak 22 languages.
📚 They come to us from colleges and universities across Nevada and around the country.
They bring different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, but today they have one big thing in common: Day 1 of becoming a dentist! 🪥
