Our speaker for convocation this morning… the one and only Ricky T.

Ricky is a born-and-raised Las Cruces native who discovered his passion for broadcasting at just 17 years old. Nearly 20 years later, he’s become a familiar and trusted voice across Southern New Mexico radio. A multi-time New Mexico Broadcasters Association award winner, Ricky most recently earned Morning Show of the Year in 2025.
Ricky is known for his love of pop culture, music, and making people laugh. He is all about creating memorable moments for his listeners. But beyond the mic, his greatest passion is giving back and staying deeply connected to the community he’s proud to call home.
Ricky has now started his journey in helping Las Cruces Residents achieve their Real Estate Goals. His deep community roots and connections with Las Cruces make him the perfect resource for everything Las Cruces has to offer.

Welcome our Master Artist and Artist in Residence - Gustavo Muñiz
Gustavo Muñiz is a woodcut printmaker, illustrator, and graphic designer based in southern New Mexico. Born in Torrance, California, and raised in Anthony, New Mexico, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New Mexico State University, where he studied printmaking under Spencer Fidler. His work has been exhibited in numerous juried exhibitions and fairs, including the
Contemporary Hispanic Market, Self-Help Graphics, Gallery 925 and the Las Artistas Art & Fine Crafts Show, as well as solo exhibitions in California. His prints are included in the permanent collections of the Albuquerque Museum and The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley, and have been featured in The Carved Line: Woodcut Printmaking in New Mexico and Wit, Humor and Wisdom. In addition to a 25-year career in graphic design and visual communications, he also taught at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) for 5 years. Muñiz has volunteered as a printmaking instructor at the Women's Intercultural Center in
Anthony, New Mexico, and currently serve as Vice Chair of the Doña Ana County Public Art Advisory Board. Just as he learned from past educators and was inspired by his community, he
is excited to foster artistic expression in a future generation and strives to pass on his artistic experiences to anyone who wants to learn.

A new Western art tradition is coming to Las Cruces!

The Friends of the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Museum is excited to announce the inaugural Art on the Range, a celebration of Western art, heritage, and community that also serves as a fundraiser supporting the Museum's educational programs, exhibits, collections, and preservation efforts.

We're currently accepting entries for:
• Western Art Juried Show & Auction
• Plein Air Competition & Auction

Artists from New Mexico, Texas, and across the Southwest are invited to submit artwork inspired by the landscapes, history, wildlife, ranching traditions, and spirit of the American West.

Juried Show Entry Deadline: August 26, 2026
Plein Air Competition, Art Auction & Fundraising Dinner: October 17, 2026
