We're in the process of choosing a recurring date and place for an informal, annual reunion for all Oñate High School graduates who are 10 or more years out from their graduation. Within that age range, any and all graduates are welcome to come out and mingle with other OHS grads, visit with old friends, and connect with fellow alums. With social networking sites like Facebook, a lot of us are alr
eady in touch with eachother, making the traditional reunion events seem a little pointless. However, it would still be nice to see eachother from time to time. It's also difficult to make special travel plans to Las Cruces just for a reunion. With that said, we hope setting a standing reunion will give people an easy way to see eachother. If you can't make it out one year, no big deal. And if you'd like to plan within a group of good friends to all make it out to a reunion one year, then go right ahead. If you come out to a reunion but don't find a lot of your classmates, then have a drink and head out whenever you like. Again, the idea is for this to be informal, relaxed, and fun. As for the date and place; no decisions have been made, but we're considering holding reunion every year on Christmas night. It's a time a lot of out-of-towners will already be home for the holidays, and that evening is usually pretty relaxed for everyone after they've opened presents, gone to church and/or shared a meal with family and friends. If you have kids, hopefully there's plenty of family in town to watch them a couple of hours that night, too! This is by no means decided on, and we're hoping to get lots of feedback and suggestions, so please feel free to post those, too. We're also consdering a location; a bar or restaurant with a casual open seating area that we could take over, but not necessarily require any kind of major reservation or fee to hold the space. We're hoping to land on a date and place that will best serve the group as a whole, so if you could keep that in mind while making suggestions, we'd greatly appreciate it. Also, you may have noticed that we'd like to keep the reunion to classes out of school at least 10 years. This is to simply help ensure this is an adult-only event. No offense to younger grads, but we've all been there, right?! Of course attendees are more than welcome to bring a spouse/friend/guest/date to the reunion. Thanks so much for your like, and we hope to see you all soon!
