Lupe, one of our work-study students in the Office of Assessment is running for Homecoming Queen! She is absolutely fantastic, so help spread the word - she greatly appreciates our support!

Any NMSU student can vote by logging on at: vote.nmsu.edu
(Before 5pm this Friday!)

Here is a note from Lupe:

My name is Lupe Saldivar, I am currently a senior at NMSU. I feel that I am great nominee, because I am very friendly and I am actively involved on campus. I also love to teach and mentor by sharing my experiences and knowledge to others.

About Me:
I was born in Mexico City, Mexico and raised in Eddyville, Nebraska. Most people don't know where this, I don't blame them because Eddyville has a population of 97 people, despite the size of the town it had a big impact on my childhood. It was a drastic, but amazing change moving to the southwest. (I was amazed to see that there were more people than cows this time!) On my free time I enjoy watching movies, just not scary ones. I was never really into sports, but I did get a black belt in Taekwondo at age 13. I love to travel to new and exciting places. Having this said, I take mountain loads of pictures! I'm also very dedicated in academics and my work at the Office of Assessment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and considering me as your homecoming queen!

Voting will takes place until Friday at 5:00 p.m.
You can cast your vote at: vote.nmsu.edu

Thank you,
Lupe Saldivar

Was so fortunate to attend workshops at the NMSU Teaching Academy this week on rubrics and professional writing. Presenter Dannelle D. Stevens, professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Portland State University in Oregon was terrific! Two books she has co-authored are definitely worth checking out - Introduction to Rubrics and Journal Keeping.
