Hello Friends & Families, we have two meaningful events in September that we are preparing for and need your support. First, on September 4th, we will celebrate Mesilla Park’s 50th birthday. We will have various presentations, a DJ, and an opportunity to meet and talk to former students and staff that walked the halls of our school. Additionally, we will host Grandparents Day on September 11th. It’s a day when Mesilla Park Staff and Students honor the Grandparents of our school community. We will have our second & third grade students performing and we would like to have refreshments for our grandparents on that morning. These two events will be memorable for our school community. We are asking for donations of food items for these two events. The link provided lists the items needed to help us provide refreshments for Grandparent’s Day and items for our concession stand for the 50th celebration. Items will be needed by September 2nd and can be dropped off at our school office. The items do not need to be purchased at Walmart. We thank you for your support.

We are also looking for volunteers to assist with serving food and drinks during the celebration on the 4th. If interested, please message PTO at [email protected]

Way to Go Antonella!

Earlier tonight at our LCPS Board of Education meeting, members of the board and Superintendent Ignacio Ruiz formally recognized Antonella, a student at Mesilla Park Elementary School, for her winning three-dimensional exhibit, "Lighthouse Mixed-Media Vignette". Antonella was also presented with a $25 cash award, sponsored by the Picture Frame Outlet and Gallery.

We had a great meet and greet day yesterday. School begins for all students (k-5) on Monday, July 27th. Mosquitos 🦟 will be a problem. Please apply repellent on your child before sending to school. Our staff are excited and ready to begin the school year.

Ayer tuvimos una excelente jornada de presentación y bienvenida. Las clases para todos los alumnos (de kínder a 5.º grado) comienzan el lunes 27 de julio. Hello Nighthawk Friends and Families! This year our theme will be “ROARing and SOARing into Learning”. It will be exciting to connect trains and railroads to our learning. Our local Railroad Museum will host some learning opportunities about the railroad and trains.

On May 21st, we hosted a talent show and it was wonderful! We are proud of our brave students that challenged themselves and performed in front of the crowd. 👏
