🌟Thrive Thursday Spotlight🌟

Every school has people who help set the tone for a positive, welcoming place to learn — and at Conlee Community Elementary, Music Teacher Bailey McLellan is doing just that!
Ms. McLellan is an incredible asset to the Conlee family. Known for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to lend a hand, she brings her talents far beyond the music classroom. Whether she is inspiring students through music or volunteering her time to support school events, Bailey helps create an environment where students feel valued, confident, and excited to learn.
For Bailey, some of the most meaningful moments happen when she sees a student discover what they are capable of:
"My favorite thing about my job is watching students grow individually through music. I love experiencing those moments that help students feel confident and seeing them light up when they perform. It's also rewarding to see how each student learns differently and how music enhances that ability. I also really love my team; they make coming to school worth it even on the hard days."
Bailey, thank you for helping Conlee students find their confidence, discover their talents, and maybe even find their own rhythm along the way. You don't just teach the notes, you help students find their voice. And that is music to our ears!

The Doña Ana County Fair is just the beginning!

For many FFA students, months of hard work, dedication and preparation come together at the fair, but earning top honors is only the start of a busy competition season.

From the New Mexico State Fair in September to the El Paso County Fair and Southern New Mexico State Fair, these students will continue showcasing their skills, knowledge and award-winning animals. For many, the journey will ultimately lead to state and national competitions, where they represent their schools and Southern New Mexico on an even bigger stage.

Take a look at these future leaders as they prepare to showcase their animals and all the hard work that goes into raising them.

The Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Memorial Foundation continues to inspire and celebrate the educators who help our students bloom every day.

This week, the Foundation visited eight schools across Las Cruces to surprise some incredible educators selected for the 1st Annual Dr. Karen M. Trujillo "Bloom Where You're Planted" Teacher Giveaway!

As Dr. Karen M. Trujillo's legacy continues to inspire our district, Las Cruces Public Schools is honored to celebrate educators who embody her passion for teaching, learning, and serving students. Their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment make a lasting impact on children, families, and our entire community.

Reminder: LCPS Food Distribution on Thursday, August 6

LCPS will host a drive-thru food distribution on Thursday, August 6, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in front of the LCPS Family Support Center, located at 505 S. Main St., Suite 249.

Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 75 families. A line begins forming a couple of hours before the scheduled start time, so families are encouraged to arrive before 9:00 a.m.

Families are asked to remain in their vehicles throughout the distribution.
