Dear JPTA Friends and Families,

I am writing to share that one of our students, Matthew Garcia, recently suffered a serious injury resulting in significant burns. He is currently receiving care at the UMC Burn Center in Lubbock, Texas. While he is stable, he is expected to remain there for an extended period as his medical team continues treatment and evaluates next steps.

During this challenging time, Matthew’s family is facing both emotional and financial strain. As a community, we have an opportunity to offer meaningful support. If you are able, donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated to help ease the financial burden associated with his care.

Message from the Director...

We are currently planning to operate
school on our regular schedule tomorrow—no delay.

If this changes, I will notify you by email as soon as possible.

LCPS has announced a two-hour delay for students, with staff on their regular schedule. Because conditions in our area are currently sunny and are expected to remain so into tomorrow, we will not be following the district delay.

Parents and Guardians, if you live in an area where you expect wet roads or potentially icy or unsafe conditions, please reply to this email to let us know you may arrive late. Your delay will be excused.

Please use your best judgment, stay safe, and have a nice Sunday.
