Food insecurity affects a student’s ability to focus, learn, and fully participate in college life. Aggie Cupboard helps reduce that burden by ensuring NMSU students have access to nutritious food and essential household items when they need additional support.

Our Student Assistance Services team was proud to partner with the New Mexico State University Foundation to tell the story of Aggie Cupboard at NMSU through this new video, created as part of the Aggies Back to School | Back to Giving campaign. We’re excited to finally share the result!

NMSU Military & Veterans Programs is collecting donations for the upcoming Las Cruces Veterans Helping Hands Stand Down on Friday, October 16!

This event provides essential resources and support to veterans experiencing homelessness in our community. Donations of cold-weather items, travel-size hygiene products, and non-perishable snacks are currently being accepted.

🚨Las Cruces Veterans Helping Hands Stand Down
📅Friday, October 16, 2026
⏰8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
📍VFW Post 10124, 709 S. Valley Drive, Las Cruces, NM

The Stand Down provides homeless veterans with a broad range of necessities, including food, clothing, medical, legal, and mental health assistance, job counseling and referral, and most importantly, companionship and camaraderie.

In support of the Stand Down, we ask for the following items to be donated: thermal underwear both tops and bottoms, blankets, winter socks, gloves, beanies and TRAVEL SIZE hygiene items to be placed in backpacks such as body soap/wash, razors, deodorant, Chapstick, lotion, individual Kleenex/tissue packs, hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes, feminine hygiene products, body cleansing wipes, shampoo, combs/hair brushes and non-perishable snacks. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Campus safety is a shared conversation — and this is a great opportunity for students, families, supporters, and members of our NMSU community to hear directly from NMSU Police Chief Justin Dunivan.

Join the community meeting on Monday, August 24 at 12:30 p.m. in the Corbett Center Senate Gallery to hear the latest campus safety information, help dispel rumors with accurate information, and learn practical tips for staying safe on campus.

Whether you’re a student or someone who cares about an Aggie, staying informed matters.

New Mexico State University Police Chief Justin Dunivan will host a community meeting about safety on Monday, Aug. 24 at 12:30 p.m. in the Corbett Center Senate Gallery, Room 304.

“When we gather together, it breaks down barriers and builds the trust necessary for real communication,” said NMSU Police Chief Justin Dunivan. “It gives us a chance to share the actual data, dispel rumors and provide actionable tips that can keep people on campus and our greater community from becoming a victim of crime.”
