Tailgate with the Tribe is TONIGHT, August 21st from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. downtown Larned. We have extended our invitation to our friends and families of USD 496. ALL USD 495 and 496 students get a FREE hotdog meal! Come hang out with us tonight, have fun at the carnival, listen to music, eat good food and enjoy the company of your friends. We can't wait to see you there!

We are doing things a little different this year with our Preschool kiddos. Preschool will not have their first day of school until Monday, August 24th. This allows our Pre-K teachers more time to be able to meet with all the parents. If you need assistance setting up a meet the teacher appointment for your preschooler, please contact the Larned Elementary School office at 620-285-2141.

We are excited to welcome our Preschoolers on Monday, August 24th.

Here comes the busy month of September right around the corner 🗓️

Just a reminder rather than releasing one 12 month calendar for the entire year, we'll be sharing one month at a time. We take pride in keeping our families informed with the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. As schedules change and new events are added, this helps ensure you're always working from the latest version.

Each calendar will be available to download and print in both 8.5" x 11" and 11" x 18" formats, making it easy to hang on the fridge, in the office, or wherever your family keeps track of the busy school year!

Due to a scheduling conflict, SWAY testing for HS and MS athletes has been moved to Monday. Testing will take place on Monday in the HS library. Juniors at 8:30am, Freshmen at 10:30am and 7th/8th grade Football at 4:00pm. Seniors and Sophomores will not be testing.

This week we welcomed 9 new certified staff to Ft. Larned Schools. Our orientation included a welcome, breakdown of the ins and outs of the district operations and a catch-up session of the work our staff has been doing on developing life long learners for the last two years. They also reviewed instructional strategies and spent some time with their mentor or ambassadors. They each bring talent, new experiences, energy and perspective. We are thrilled to welcome these new and veteran teachers to our district.
