No judgment here… we know some of us work best under a deadline. 😉😂 And with the first day of school THIS WEDNESDAY, it’s officially time to grab those school supplies!

Not sure what your child needs? We’ve got you covered! 💙💛

📋 School supply lists are available for each classroom. Scan the QR code in the graphic to find your child’s list and get that cart filled!

And don’t forget — you can bring those supplies with you to our Back-to-School BBQ & School Supply Drop-Off this Tuesday from 1–3 PM! Meet your teacher, see your classroom, drop off all those supplies, and enjoy some back-to-school fun before the big day. 🐾

🛒 Amazon cart? Target run? Walmart pickup? However you do it, this is your friendly reminder that it’s time! 😂

📣 IMPORTANT BACK-TO-SCHOOL REMINDER! 🐾💙💛

The first day of school is THIS WEDNESDAY, August 12! 🎉 Before we welcome our Bobcats back, please make sure you have completed Express Check-In for EACH of your students.

Express Check-In is required for all DCSD families and must be completed every school year. This is where you:

✅ Update household & contact information
✅ Complete required school forms
✅ Review the Student Code of Conduct
✅ Apply for bus passes, if applicable
✅ Pay applicable fees
✅ Make sure we have the most current information for your child

⚠️ Already started? Double-check that you actually finished! Your status bar should show 100% complete, and you will provide an electronic signature at the end to officially complete the process.

💻 Log in through EngagED (HTTPS://WWW.DCSDK12.ORG/PARENTS-STUDENTS/EXPRESS-CHECK-IN) to complete Express Check-In. Remember, when logging in, use your [email protected] — not your regular email address.

If you are having trouble accessing or completing Express Check-In, please don’t wait until Wednesday morning! Reach out to the school office so we can help get you ready for the first day.

Dear Larkspur Community,

It is with great excitement and honor that I introduce myself as your Interim Principal at Larkspur Elementary. Having grown up and served in the Douglas County School District, returning to work with this community feels like coming home. I am truly honored to partner with all of you.

Creating a supportive and thriving school culture is deeply personal to me. I believe everything we do starts with the connections we build and the community we foster together. My main goal is to make sure that Larkspur continues to be a safe, welcoming, and joyful place where every single student feels seen and supported.

Larkspur is a school with a wonderful sense of tradition and pride. As I step into this role, I want to take a moment to recognize Jennifer Oldham for her exceptional leadership and dedication. Her commitment has shaped the incredible foundation that exists today. I have immense respect for the work she has done, and it is an honor to build upon the legacy she leaves behind while continuing to support the traditions and culture that make Larkspur so special.

As I step into the building, my immediate priority will be listening, learning, and connecting with students, staff, and families. I look forward to celebrating the many strengths already in place while partnering with all of you to support continued success for every student. I look forward to meeting each of you, listening to your hopes for our students, and collaborating on our shared vision for the future.

Together, we will write the next chapter in Larkspur’s story, ensuring it remains a dynamic, supportive environment where children love to learn.

Thank you for an amazing school year, Bobcat families! 💙🐾

Our school is what it is because of you. Your partnership, support, and dedication to our incredible students make all the difference each and every day. Together, we have celebrated growth, perseverance, learning, and so many special memories this year.

We are so grateful to be part of such an incredible community. Have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing summer, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back next year!

Running Club with the Principal was so much fun! Over the last six weeks, our students set personal running goals and showed incredible perseverance, determination, and grit as they worked to beat those goals. Watching our Bobcats encourage one another and push themselves to grow has been truly inspiring.

Today marks the end of an incredible chapter at Larkspur Elementary as we say goodbye to a true legend, Mrs. Nancy Kost.

Mrs. Kost began her journey with DCSD at Larkspur Elementary back in 1977, and for decades she has been a steady, caring, familiar face to generations of students, staff, and families. Today was her final day substitute teaching, and it’s hard to imagine our halls without her.

Her kindness, dedication, patience, and love for this school community have left a lasting impact that cannot be measured. So many students have been comforted, encouraged, and inspired by her over the years.

Thank you, Mrs. Kost, for the countless lives you’ve touched and for giving so much of yourself to this school and community for nearly 50 years. You will always be part of the heart of Larkspur Elementary.

Enjoy your well-deserved retirement — you will be greatly missed and forever appreciated. 💙💛
