From Student to Facilitator: Jalen's Full Circle!

Years ago, Jalen was learning Scratch and robotics as a STEMWonders student.

Today? He's teaching micro:bit to the next generation as an intern at STEMWonders!

Such a proud moment where students who experience hands-on STEM education so powerful that they return to share it with others!

Jalen now facilitates both virtual sessions and onsite engagements, bringing the same passion and expertise he learned here to inspire new students!

That's the ripple effect of quality STEM education: One inspired student becomes a mentor. One mentor inspires more students. The cycle continues!

Proud of you, Jalen! From learner to leader!

IGS Robotics class leveled up!
Students started by tackling the touch sensor challenge from last lesson, then dove into something new: the sonic sensor for measuring distance.

Loved seeing the logical thinking, problem-solving, and pure determination on display as students tested, tweaked, and improved their programs. Critical thinking in action! πŸ’‘

Huge thanks to our students for staying focused and pushing through, and to our teacher for keeping everyone engaged and motivated throughout.

Our Elementary Students are creating Fruit Ninja games in Scratch

Here is what they have been up to! They are programming:

1. Fruit sprites that move across the screen
2. Slicing mechanics (click detection, video sensoring)
3. Score systems that track points
4. Slice effects and animations using bitmap

What They're Learning:

πŸ“š Computational Thinking: Breaking complex problems (how does a game work?) into manageable steps

🧩 Problem-Solving: Debugging when fruit won't slice or scores won't update

🎨 Creativity: Designing unique games with personal touches

πŸ’‘ Logic: Understanding cause-effect (if fruit clicked, then slice and score)

πŸ”§ Persistence: Iterating until the game works perfectly

"This is my webpage!"

The excitement when students see their personal stories displayed on webpages THEY coded is absolutely priceless!

Using , , and tags, they built "About Me" pages featuring:

"My Bio" (h1)
"My Favorite Sport" (h2) + descriptions (p)
"Foods I Love" (h2) + why they love them (p)
"My Hobbies" (h2) + details about activities (p)

From learning tags to telling their stories through code, this is web development making it personal!
