Hello Everyone! I just wanted to address an issue that we have encountered in the past week. AS you all know this memorial license plate was released for pre-sale on October 1st. Well, there was another law enforcement related license plate released on October 1st relating to retired law enforcement members. Just a friendly reminder to double check that when pre-ordering or in your pre-order voucher, that it says Fallen Officers Memorial License plate! If not, this does not go towards our 1,000 pre-sale total or goes to help our organization. Thanks everyone!

As it seemed, just another ordinary day at school, it turned into the birth of what would be Operation 10-24. As we walked into our Civics/Social Sciences class lead by Mr. Richard Cross, he

We are so honored to be apart of a community that is so supportive of our efforts to honor law enforcement! Thank you to Channel 10 news reporter Bobby Lewis for dedicating his entire day to making this story so touching and including one of our honored fallen officer's Lorraine Yaslowitz (wife of Jeff Yaslowitz, Officer of St.Petersburg Police). Don't forget to go and pre-order your vouchers! The sooner we reach 1,000 the sooner we can start helping law enforcement with training and other sources.
Students create license plate to honor police Some former Pinellas Park High students are to thank for getting the state of Florida a license plate to honor slain police officers.
UPDATE: For those of you inquiring as to the amount o plates sold thus far, as of 3:30 today there have been 64 pre-sale vouchers sold. While this is an outstanding number for only a weeks time, we still need to pre-sell 936!! The Fallen Officer's Memorial License Plate is officially available for pre-sale in the state of Florida!! This license plate was originally a class project assignment by the freshman class of 2014 at the Criminal Justice Academy of Pinellas Park High School in Largo, Florida four years ago after the deaths of three St.Petersburg police officers. When the class of 2014 found out that no such specialty plate existed in the state to memorialize fallen law enforcement, as a class they rallied together to make this simply class project become a reality. Last Florida legislative session, with the help of Senator Jack Latvala and Representative Ed Hooper, the bill was passed as Florida law. A board of directors, who will soon be announced after the pre-sale is met, will distribute the money raised from the tag to help current law enforcement as well as future law enforcement through magnet programs and other organizations. The charity in which the funds raised will be held in is the Police and Kids Foundation ( www.policeandkids.com ). The Police and Kids charity will have no say in the distribution of funds, we have just partnered with them for the holding of funds. The current organization Chairperson, Lauren Lofton, has been the chairperson of the organization from the start and will continue to be chair on the board of directors. If there are any questions, please feel free to email her at her personal email [email protected]. You can go into any local DMV in Florida and order the pre-sale voucher for $33. Once 1,000 are met, they will then go into production. If 1,000 are not met soon, the plate will not be produced. Encourage everyone to purchase the plate to honor those who give so much to our community!
Thank you to everyone who has bought the vouchers today!! If you could just comment how many you purchased on this post, we would love to get a general count of how many were bought today! Thanks so much!!!
