Our FSMC staff came together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

From beautifully decorated doors showcasing creativity and culture to coming together for a fun celebration, our staff embraced the spirit of the month. They finished things off with chips and salsa and dancing. This is just one of the ways our staff come together as a team to foster team spirit and collaboration outside of the classroom.

Things are getting wild at The Foundation Schools!

Our students were excited to welcome Michael Shwedick to The Foundation Schools for an exciting and educational reptile show. Michael had our students engaged with his fascinating collection of reptiles and shared interesting facts and stories that brought the experience to life. Our students had the opportunity to see these incredible animals up close while learning about their unique characteristics, habitats, and behaviors.

Thank you, Michael, for hosting such a memorable and engaging experience for our students! We loved having you at The Foundation School and appreciate you sharing your passion for reptiles with our community.

We would also like to thank our longtime supporter and friend of The Foundation School, Mr. Norman Blumenthal, for sponsoring this exciting educational experience.

This October, The Foundation Schools stands with everyone whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. We honor survivors, remember those we have lost, and celebrate the strength of patients, families, caregivers, and communities.

Stay tuned as our staff and students go pink throughout the month.

Last week we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year with our annual all-staff meeting, bringing together our three amazing schools.

During the day, our guest speaker, Mark Sturdivant reminded us to reflect on the “why” behind our work. We also had the opportunity to honor our dedicated staff members for their years of service and commitment to our school, celebrating tenure up to 30 years! We are incredibly grateful for their years of experience, passion, and countless contributions they have made throughout the years.

Science is happening at Brookside Gardens, Montgomery Parks !

Our students are getting hands-on with environmental science as they study the pond’s pH balance and nitrate levels. Through real-world testing and observation, they’re learning how water chemistry can tell us more about the health of an aquatic ecosystem.

The learning didn’t stop once they left the pond. Our students also collected plant seed balls, and we can’t wait to see the wildflowers that grow from them.

What do our classrooms still need? Be a champion for them before our Back to School Drive ends this week, and make a big impact on our students. Every gift, big or small, helps provide the academic, mental health, and behavioral support our students need to thrive throughout the school year. 80% of our students come from low-income households; your support can make an especially meaningful difference.

Sometimes a change of plans leads to great discoveries! Our Foundation Learning Center staff and students encountered a change of plans during their field trip, leading them to discover an amazing art exhibit at 11:Eleven Gallery. During their visit, our students admired art pieces from artists around the world.

We would like to thank 11: Eleven Gallery for accommodating our students on such short notice and providing them with a great cultural experience.
