Did you know that June is Gun Violence Awareness Month?

Every year, thousands of families across this country including right here in Washington, DC are forever changed by gun violence. Mothers are burying their children. Families are left grieving, often alone, with nowhere to turn.

That’s exactly why Mothers on Purpose exists.

This June, we’re showing up raising awareness, honoring lives lost, and standing alongside every mother who is still carrying this pain.

Follow us this month as we share stories, stats, resources, and ways you can stand with our community.

🧡 Wear orange. Say their names.

Share this post. Because awareness is the first step toward change. 💜

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we’re not scrolling past it. 💛

Did you know 1 in 5 people experience a mental health condition. That means someone in your circle, your family, your workplace is carrying something right now that you may not even know about.

This month and every month let’s practice empathy. Let’s give grace. Let’s slow down before we react, judge, or assume.
Because you never know what someone is walking through behind closed doors.

Grief. Loss. Burnout. Anxiety. Depression. Loneliness. Exhaustion. It doesn’t always look like what we expect. Sometimes it looks like someone who seems “fine.”

If you or someone you know is in crisis — call or text 988. Help is available 24/7. 💙
You are not alone. 💛

Just leaving the cemetery, and as always, I leave grateful.
Every time I come here, something in me shifts. Being in this space is a reminder of how precious life is and how much I owe it to myself to keep going.

To keep chasing my goals. To keep showing up. Because I’m still here.
My mother was my greatest example and the fact that I get to honor her legacy by helping other women navigate grief that’s not just work. That’s my joy.

I remember a time when I couldn’t even come here alone. I needed someone with me just to get through it. And now? I can come by myself. I can sit. I can breathe. I can be still.
That’s healing. That’s God.

I’m not without sadness grief doesn’t work like that. But I am at peace. And I am grateful that God continues to be my healer and my restorer, and that my mother is still watching over me.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. 🦋

& to all the moms, Happy Mother’s Day 💐

I’m still not over this past Sunday’s Tea Talk 💕💕

From the moment I walked into the space, I knew it was going to be special. The energy, the details, the intention behind it all you could feel it.

I have so many amazing things I could say, but I want to start by giving the host her flowers 🌸
is so intentional in everything she does from the way she curates the space to the relationships she builds. She is truly rooted in community and sisterhood, and I’m so grateful to call her mine.

The event itself? A 10/10.
Not one of those spaces where people just show up and stand around. People were connecting, pouring into each other, and being present.

As a panelist, I felt honored to share space with some incredible women doing meaningful work.

And listen that spinach dip? Chef’s kiss 😭 I need the recipe.

But more than anything, this reminded me why I believe so deeply in healing happening in community.
There’s something powerful about being in rooms like this where relationships are formed, stories are shared, and growth happens in real time.

Sometimes you have to pause and remember how far you’ve come.

Adult Field Day did not disappoint 👀✨

I had the chance to be a vendor this past Sunday, and even from my table, I got to watch adults tap back into their inner child laughing, playing, and just enjoying life.

That’s what wellness looks like too. Not just the heavy moments, but the joy, the connection, the release.

I love being part of spaces like this and sharing how Can I Grieve can support people along their journey.

Shoutout to the host this was intentional and needed 🤎

There are events and then there are experiences.

Tea Talk is one of those spaces where everything is done with intention the environment, the conversations, the people, even the smallest details.

If you’re in the Raleigh area or nearby, I would love to see you there. I’m honored to be returning, and even more excited for you to experience it for yourself.

Come as you are. Leave with something you didn’t know you needed. 🤎☕️

Happy Monday 💛

I’m still on a high from this past Saturday.

It felt so good to be back in the community connecting, meeting new people, and just being present. I have to say, really did their thing 👏🏾

So grateful to have been a part of this event.

Now listen… the kids drove me crazy behind that candy 😂 but in the best way. They were NOT playing about those goodie bags.

But what really stood out to me were the affirmation sticks.

People were able to either write an affirmation or write down one thing grief has taught them and that part? That was powerful.

Moments like that remind me why I do this work.
