The following email and phone call will go to our families tomorrow morning. We wanted to share it as quickly as possible as our communication system doesn't allow any emails or phone calls after 8:00 pm. Thanks!

Walsingham Oaks Families,

What a great first day of school! It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces arriving on campus this morning. We especially loved seeing our Kindergarten and First Grade families walking their children in and sending them off with lots of encouragement for a great year!

Beginning tomorrow, we will transition to our regular arrival procedures. To help students enter campus as close as possible to their classrooms, please use the following drop-off locations:

Kindergarten–4th Grade: Pup Side Car Circle

VPK: Playground Gate

5th–7th Grade: Pack Side Car Circle

DHH Students: Van Circle (more information below)

Morning Arrival

Please help your child know where to go when they arrive on campus:

Kindergarten–2nd Grade: Pup Side Media Center

3rd Grade: Ms. Matthews’ Art Room

4th Grade: Ms. Kaminsky’s Music Room

5th Grade: Pack Side Media Center

6th & 7th Grade: Report directly to 1st period

Breakfast carts will be available for students on their way to their assigned morning location.

Morning drop-off is from 8:00–8:25 a.m. Students will begin transitioning to classrooms at 8:20 a.m., and our school day begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.

DHH Student Arrival & Dismissal

For our DHH students, we ask families to please use the van circle for both drop-off and pick-up. The van circle is located just past the front office and is the last loop entrance before passing our campus.

Using this location will allow our DHH students to have easy access to their DHH teachers and interpreters at both arrival and dismissal. DHH students who ride the bus will continue to be escorted from the bus loop to their classrooms. DHH families should follow the directions below for 6th and 7th grade students for arriving to the DHH loop.

Afternoon Dismissal & Traffic

We successfully completed dismissal today by 3:35 p.m., which was a great accomplishment for our first day! Now, we would like to work together to make dismissal even more efficient and reduce the amount of time our families spend waiting in traffic.

We are asking families to please try the suggested routes below based on the grade level of the student you are picking up. Following these traffic patterns should help reduce congestion around campus and allow us to connect you with your student more quickly.

A. Kindergarten–5th Grade Pick-Up

Travel south on Starkey Road → turn right onto Walsingham Road → turn right into the Pup Side Car Line.

After receiving your student, please exit left onto Walsingham Road and proceed to the light at Starkey Road, where you may turn left or right.

B. VPK Students & Their Siblings

Travel south on Starkey Road → turn onto Southern Comfort Drive (south of Walsingham Road) → turn right onto 92nd Street N → follow to Walsingham Road and turn right → turn left into the Pack Side entrance.

Please pull forward to the designated VPK parking spaces near the fence.

After receiving your student, exit right onto Walsingham Road → turn left onto 92nd Street N → turn left onto Southern Comfort Drive → continue to Starkey Road, where you may turn left or right.

C. 6th–7th Grade Students & Their Siblings

Travel south on Starkey Road → turn onto Southern Comfort Drive → turn right onto 92nd Street N → follow to Walsingham Road and turn right → turn left into the Pack Side entrance.

Once on campus, pull forward, turn left toward the front office, and join the Pack Side Car Line.

After receiving your student, exit right onto Walsingham Road → turn left onto 92nd Street N → turn left onto Southern Comfort Drive → continue to Starkey Road, where you may turn left or right.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we settle into our arrival and dismissal routines. The first few days of school always take a little extra time as everyone learns the flow, and your cooperation makes a tremendous difference.

We had a wonderful first day, and we are excited for an amazing year ahead at Walsingham Oaks! Thank you for helping us make arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for all of our Wolves!

Warmly,
Mrs. Leichman
Principal

Dear Walsingham Oaks Families,
We are excited to welcome you to Meet the Teacher on Friday! The event will take place from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. Please come by anytime between these hours. You may enter either through the pup side, which is closest to Starkey Road or by the front office, which is our pack side. As adjustments to class assignments have been occurring all week, please check your Focus portal Friday morning before Meet the Teacher to ensure you are going to the correct classroom. If your child doesn't have an assigned homeroom teacher (K-5) or 1st period teacher (6th -7th), please come to the office so that we may assist you.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for your child to:
• Meet their teacher.
• Find and become familiar with their new classroom.
• Drop off school supplies.
• Begin building excitement for a successful school year.

To ensure that every family has the opportunity to meet with their child's teacher, we ask that conversations remain brief during this event. Meet the Teacher is not intended to serve as a parent-teacher conference. If you have questions or concerns that require a more in-depth discussion, please contact your child's teacher to schedule an individual conference at a later date and time.
We utilize a placard system for dismissal and all children from the same family are connected to the same placard number. Therefore, placards will be given out in the classroom of the eldest child in the family.
Thank you for helping us make this a positive and welcoming experience for all of our families. We look forward to seeing you soon and kicking off another amazing school year together!

Warmly,
Walsingham Oaks K-8 Administration
