Are we planning on doing one this year? If so, where can we find the information?

It’s here! Our 50th anniversary of graduation from Largo High School. We have, traditionally, not been keen on reunions, but I think this one should be a go.

Let’s make it simple, local and low to no cost.

I propose we rent a shelter in Taylor Park, make it potluck, bring whatever musical instrument you have, yearbooks, photo, albums, kids, grandkids, brothers, sisters, etc.

Should we have a theme?
Dress like 1975?
Music from the 70’s?
Invite the teachers if there are any left?
Should we invite class of 1974 and 76 as well?
Date?

How about this venue for our 50th reunion? Under $60 a head.

I know it seems a life time ago, but I thought it would be nice to reach out and see if we have any interest in celebrating our 50th class reunion in 2025.

Dear Largo High School Class of 1975 ......Are we going to try to plan our 45th reunion for later in the year??

Late summer?

Suggestions as to when, where?

Wait until the COVID thing over before even trying to plan?

I invited several people to ”LIKE” our page to bring awareness to the upcoming 45th anniversary of the Largo High School Class of 1975 Graduation.

We have just over a year to reach out, plan and execute a meeting of the greatest minds to ever attend Largo High!!!

Our last reunion was on Clearwater Beach, a most appropriate location. Putting together any gathering is difficult, time consuming, expensive and at times quite frustrating.

With that in mind I suggest an all inclusive venue local to ground zero. Feel free to add your own suggestions keeping it simple, inexpensive and fun.

My first suggestion is the CALYPSO. It’s a three level party boat docked on Clearwater Beach. They can accommodate our entire class or half the class. There are air-conditioned inside decks with tables, chairs, dance floor, buffet and a bar. The rum punches are included in the ride!!

Current pricing is approximately $40 per person for the buffet and the lunchtime inland waters cruise. Group pricing is different and this is just a reach out one year early.

So whaddya say c/o 1975 grads?

Class of '75 40th Reunion:
Reunion Tomorrow & Saturday: I thought it would be nice to provide reminder and update of our scheduled events. As of today, we have 54 people attending July 24th & 25th. If you have not signed up or paid, you can post here and pay at the door.

Friday Night - Hilton Flamingo Deck from 6-10pm
Attire: comfortable and casual or as you wish. Men: shorts or khaki pants & polo shirt. Women: shorts and blouse or sundress.
Cash bar with acoustic music by the pool
Food 7:30-9:00pm:
Vegetable Crudite display
Hors d’oeuvres:
1) shrimp spring rolls
2) brie & raspberry in puff pastry
3) marinated saku tuna
4) chicken satay
5) beef tenderloin wrapped in bacon

Saturday Night – Hilton Ballroom from 6-11pm
Attire: comfortable and maybe more business casual or as you wish. Men: khaki pants & button down or polo shirt. Women: sundress, cocktail dress or nice shorts and blouse.
DJ with 70’s & other music from 7-11pm
Karaoke system – this should be entertaining!
Cash bar
Food 7:30-9:00pm:
Antipasto display
Hors d’oeuvres:
1) beef horseradish pinwheel
2) cashew chicken spring roll
3) pork empandillas
4) smoked salmon
5) asian salad in phyllo shell

Many of you have requested information regarding our 40th reunion. A few classmates have set up a reunion planning committee and we have initiated a “Meetup Group” that will help organize our efforts and reduce confusion from numerous posts on Facebook.

All you need to do is go to the website: www.meetup.com and enter Largo High School Class of 1975 into the search box. Also, if you do not default to Largo, change the “within 5 miles of_______” to Largo, FL and click the search button. You should notice the “New” Meetup site below. Click on this link and you are ready to “join us”. Follow the instructions and you will need to answer a few questions before gaining access this group. This is for privacy purposes.

Note: you will see that we will need to “approve” classmates to this private group. The committee will cross reference perspective group members with our class list to keep this group private for ’75 classmates only. You should not receive any solicitations other than for our reunion and no outside parties will see your information.

Please go ahead in “join us”, fill out the questions and you will receive approval to enter the site within a few days. After that, you can RSVP and follow our updates and other communication as you desire.
