Pinellas Park High School is proud to announce that its First Responders Program FPSA Fire Fighting Team has been recognized as the Top Fire Fighting Chapter in the State of Florida—a prestigious honor that reflects the program’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and career readiness in public safety.
This recognition highlights the dedication of Pinellas Park High School students and instructors who work tirelessly to develop the skills, discipline, and knowledge required for careers in fire service and emergency response.
In addition to this statewide achievement, the program recently welcomed a special visit from Treasure Island Fire Rescue Chief William Barrs, who presented a generous donation of nine Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) packs to support student training.
SCBA packs are essential pieces of firefighter equipment designed to provide breathable air in Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) environments. This donation significantly enhances the program’s ability to offer realistic, hands-on training experiences that mirror real-world emergency conditions.
The First Responders Program is incredibly grateful for the continued support of their Community Partners.
The collaboration between Pinellas Park High School, FPSA, and Treasure Island Fire Rescue exemplifies the power of community partnerships in preparing the next generation of first responders. Through opportunities like this, students gain not only technical skills but also a deeper understanding of teamwork, service, and leadership.
Pinellas Park High School extends its sincere appreciation to Treasure Island Fire Rescue and Chief Barrs for their commitment to student success and public safety education.
