I’m Ricardo Ahumada de la Torre, a current Yale University neuroscience student (GPA 3.84), and I’ll be mentoring this DMG College Prep cohort.
My journey has taken me from classrooms in Laredo to lecture halls in New Haven, research labs at the Yale School of Medicine, and even study abroad in Paris, France. Along the way, I’ve been dedicated not only to my own education but also to helping others unlock their potential.
Back in high school, I graduated as valedictorian of John B. Alexander High School out of 741 students—a result of relentless discipline, strategic planning, and staying consistent over four years. I balanced AP coursework, leadership roles, and community service while keeping my long-term college goals in sight.
At Yale, I’ve researched neurodegenerative diseases in the Hafler Lab, engineered proteins at Baylor College of Medicine, and led MEDLIFE at Yale to create tangible impact in underserved communities. I’m fluent in Spanish, professionally proficient in French, and passionate about using education and opportunity as tools for transformation.
In this upcoming cohort, I’ll guide students through the same kind of focused strategy that helped me earn competitive scholarships, gain admission to an Ivy League institution, and take advantage of international learning opportunities—all while staying rooted in my community.
We’ll be holding a short interest meeting soon to explain the program and how we’ll work together to make your college dreams a reality. Spots are limited—secure yours through the link in bio.

Hi, I’m Kaiyuan Nan — a dedicated student, mentor, and community leader committed to helping young people reach their highest potential.
I recently graduated as Salutatorian of the Health and Science Magnet Program at John B. Alexander High School, ranked 2nd out of 749 students, with a perfect 4.0 GPA, a 1570 SAT, and a Distinguished Level of Achievement. I also completed Laredo College’s Dual Enrollment Program and will soon be attending Rice University to continue my education at one of the nation’s top institutions.
My academic journey has always been balanced with a drive to give back. I co-founded the First Sports Fund of Laredo, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has raised over $100,000 to provide clothes, sports equipment, and resources to more than 500 people across diverse communities.
In addition to leading on the tennis court as Varsity Captain, I worked as an SAT and calculus tutor for over 30 students, managed a tutoring team, and partner with college counselors to support students aiming for top scores. My experience also extends into healthcare — from shadowing at The Children’s Clinic to assisting with diabetes and liver fibrosis research at the University of Texas Health Science Center under renowned physicians.
I’m fluent in English and Chinese, proficient in Spanish, and certified as a CPR Instructor, Dental Assistant, and Medical Assistant — tools I use to bridge communication gaps and expand opportunities for others.
In the DMG College Prep Program, I’ll be showing students how to strategically approach academics, testing, and extracurriculars — so they can secure scholarships, gain admission to competitive programs, and stand out in the college admissions process.

Hi! I’m Adrian Barajas, and my academic and professional journey has been shaped by discipline, focus, and a clear strategy for success.
I am currently a second-year J.D. candidate at Texas A&M University School of Law, where I serve as Staff Editor for both the Journal of Law and Civil Governance and the Journal of Property Law. I also work as an Academic Support TA for first-year law students and hold leadership positions as Vice President of the Latinx Law Student Association and Parliamentarian for the Federalist Society. During my legal studies, I have expanded my global perspective through study abroad experiences in Germany and London, and by attending a Global Field Program in Jersey and Guernsey, where I gained firsthand insight into how different jurisdictions operate.
Before law school, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Texas A&M University in just two years, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Broad Street Honors Program. I was deeply involved in campus life, holding leadership positions that strengthened my ability to lead, collaborate, and serve my community.
Professionally, I have completed judicial internships with both the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals. I have also served several years in the Texas State Guard, training soldiers in CPR, Stop the Bleed, and First Aid using my Emergency Medical Technician knowledge. My dedication to service extends internationally, having traveled to Guatemala and Argentina to provide critical medical care to those in need.
In the DMG College Prep Program, I will share the same strategies and mindset that helped me accelerate my education, secure valuable opportunities, and consistently perform at the highest level. This program is designed to help ambitious students position themselves for scholarships, admission to competitive programs, and meaningful professional experiences.
