Communities In Schools at J.W. Nixon High School Mustangs received a generous donation of 250 pairs of jeans last month from students who wanted to give back to the program and support their peers. ππ
They were also excited to welcome LISD TV, who highlighted the donation and gave a behind-the-scenes look at how donations are sorted and organized for the CIS Closet. Every item donated helps ensure students have access to clothing and resources that help them feel confident and prepared for success!
A huge thank you to the students for their generosity and to LISD TV for showcasing the impact of community support! β¨

Before the end of the school year, CIS at J.W. Nixon High School Mustangs hosted another CIS Closet Pop-Up! They had such a great turnout, and many students were excited to find new clothes for summer break. ππβοΈ
While the CIS Closet serves as a valuable resource, itβs also something all students can benefit from. Whether finding a new favorite outfit or picking up a few items for the season, we're proud to provide a space where students can feel confident and supported. π

Last month, a graduating senior reunited with the same CIS Site Coordinator who was part of her journey in elementary school. The student shared that she and her mom still remembered her, making this Senior Walk a special full-circle moment.
Seeing these students return, now preparing to graduate from high school, was a powerful reminder of the impact of supporting students from childhood through graduation. Congratulations, Class of 2026! πππ
