The first week of daycare can be tough for children, parents, and even teachers. There are so many emotions swirling around: fear, excitement, worry, and hope. But here is the good news: with a little patience and a consistent routine, it will get easier.

Parents, one way to help is by writing a note to your child’s teacher. Share a list of their likes, dislikes, favorite songs, or anything that brings them comfort. These small details can make a big difference during the transition.

Remember, your child is stepping into a whole new world with unfamiliar faces and surroundings. It is a lot to take in, and they need time to adjust. But trust the process, stay positive, and know that with love and support, it will get better.

Gold is for every kid who has had to fight for their life at a young age; every kid who has missed out on important milestones; every kid who has faced any type of cancer before their 18th birthday. Gold is for parents who sit in hospital room praying for the day their child will be declared cancer-free. Gold is for the siblings who watch their brother or sister get very sick and their parents get very tired and sad. Gold is for the communities that rally around families as they walk through cancer with a child. Gold is for faith in God who is bigger than cancer.
