Talk about a full-circle moment for one proud Panther!! 💙

United Independent School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jaime De Leon Jr. as the new United South High School Early College Dean, marking another milestone in a 25-year career that began shortly after he graduated from United South.

A USHS Class of 2002 alumnus, De Leon began his career with UISD at just 18 years old in the Technology Department. He then transitioned to the classroom as a Computer Science teacher and Testing Coordinator at United South before taking on his first administrative role as an Assistant Principal at STEP Academy.

He later returned to his alma mater, where he served as an Assistant Principal at both the United South Ninth Grade Campus and Main Campus.

“I couldn't be more excited! This is a total full-circle moment and a lifelong achievement for me,” De Leon shared. “Going from walking these halls as a student to working here, and now having the privilege to serve in this new role fills me with so much pride. My heart is full, and I’m ready and eager to bring my absolute best to our students and staff every single day.”

Congratulations, Jaime De León!

United South High School proudly congratulates Jaime De León on his appointment as the new Early College Dean at United South High School!

Mr. De León brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success. Throughout his career, he has served as an Assistant Principal at both the United South High School Main Campus and 9th Grade Campus, Assistant Principal at STEP Academy, Testing Coordinator at United South High School, and Computer Science teacher at United South High School.

His journey through various instructional and leadership roles has given him a comprehensive understanding of student achievement, campus operations, assessment, and the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for students.

As Early College Dean, Mr. De León will continue his commitment to empowering students and helping them pursue academic opportunities that prepare them for college, careers, and future success.

Words cannot express how lucky and fortunate our Early College program was to have you as the first Early College Dean! From the bottom of our heart, we thank you for everything you did for the Early College program and the Club!

Thank you for supporting us throughout our high school and secondary education journey, whether it was listening to our concerns, showing up to our extracurricular activities, providing us with Lunch & Learns, or allowing us to take university field trips to broaden our educational horizons. Your leadership, dedication, and support for the Early College program has left a lasting impact on our students, staff, and community.
