United South High School proudly welcomes and congratulates Dr. Cassandra Rios Bailey on her appointment as Assistant Principal!

Dr. Rios Bailey begins her 19th year in education, bringing a wealth of experience as a high school Speech and ELAR teacher, dance director, cheer sponsor, and campus testing coordinator. Her passion for education is matched by an impressive academic journey, earning degrees from Texas State University, Texas A&M International University, and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University, along with her Superintendent Certification from The University of Texas at Tyler.

A lifelong learner, published author, and dedicated educator, Dr. Rios Bailey has inspired others through professional development, leadership presentations, and her children’s book, The Dogs Who Walked With Me. She believes every student and staff member deserves to feel seen, heard, valued, and empowered, and is committed to leading with grace, strength, compassion, and joy.

As she begins this exciting new chapter at the Heart of the South, we are thrilled to welcome her to Panther Nation. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Rios Bailey and wishing her continued success as she helps lead our students, staff, and community toward excellence.

United South High School proudly congratulates Mrs. Maria R. Ledezma on her appointment as Assistant Principal of the United South High School 9th Grade Campus!

With nearly 20 years of dedicated service, all at United South, Mrs. Ledezma has made a lasting impact as a mathematics teacher, Math Department Pathfinder, leading the department to become the #1-ranked in the district, and most recently as our Campus Testing Coordinator.

As she begins this new chapter, Mrs. Ledezma is committed to using her instructional leadership to coach and support teachers, strengthen classroom instruction, and work alongside students, staff, and families to foster academic excellence, continuous growth, and Panther Pride.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Ledezma on this well-deserved achievement. We wish her continued success as she inspires excellence and leads the next generation of Panthers!

Today, our student-athletes, band members, and extracurricular participants attended a Title IX awareness meeting as we prepare for another successful school year.

Thank you to our parents for partnering with us and allowing your students to participate in this important training. Together, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment where every Panther can thrive.

Students who were unable to attend will have the opportunity to complete the training in the coming days.
