****Active Charcoal can save pets from poisoning***
Important: If you suspect your dog or cat has ingested poison, you must act quickly and give active charcoal (smashed into powder) mixed with water within the first hour orally with a syringe for it can help safe your pet's life while making arrangements to see a veterinarian.
**Active Charcoal helps absorb the toxins and impedes the poison from being absorbed into the body of your pet. The recommended dose of activated charcoal for all species of animals is 1-3 gm/kg body weight.
**It must be done while he or she is still conscious. If given unconscious, the liquid charcoal will pass to its lungs, causing a fatal death. If your pet is unconscious by the time you got to him/ her, you can try to give syringes of it through its re**um to help absorb the poison/ toxins.
(It will NOT work if your pet ingested lead, methanol, and alcohol)

**Always have pieces of unused charcoal of your carne-asada handy for this kind of emergency! HEB pharmacy will give you a free 5ml syringe without the needle, if you stop and ask for one.

**Do not forget to apply lubricant jelly or vaseline to the thermometer before taking the temperature.
Normal body temperature for dogs and cats is 101 to 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit (38.3 to 39.2 degrees Celsius).
Some people and some pets maintain a baseline temperature a little above or below the average, but if your pet's temperature rises above 104 degrees F or falls below 99 degrees F, take him to a veterinarian immediately.

What does FRCP vaccine stand for?
This is the vaccine that helps prevent your kittens and cats from contracting feline viral, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukeopenia

***(The FRCP vaccine Does not include Rabies, Leukemia, nor Feline Aids) Those are separate vaccines.

**New born kittens must be vaccinated as early as 6 weeks old, followed by 2 more sets, 3 weeks apart. Then once every year with their yearly vaccines as adult cats.
**No vaccine is 100% effective, but if vaccinations are administered on your pets accordingly, the chances of them contracting any of these viruses will be slim to none.

To prevent kittens from getting Feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia, their first vaccine FRCP vaccine must be given to them as early at 6 weeks old, followed by 2 more sets every 3 weeks.

***Deworming is just as important, they must be dewormed at 2 weeks old, every 2 weeks until 16 weeks (4 months) then, its once every 3 months to prevent parasites from eating them internally, causing fatal death. No vaccine is 100% effective, but if schedule is followed, the chances of them contracting any of the viruses will be slim to none.

Para evitar que los gatitos contraigan rinotraqueítis viral felina, calicivirus, panleucopenia, se les debe administrar la primera vacuna FRCP a las 6 semanas de edad, seguida de 2 series más cada 3 semanas.
