A nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing k-12 Science, Technology, Engineering & Math enrichme

is a grass-roots nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing STEM education and enrichment. The STEM Alliance is a dynamic group of educators, parents, community members, alumni and business leaders working to advance STEM K-12 education and enrichment initiatives to benefit students and educators in Westchester County, NY. The Alliance's mission is to foster and help facilitate:

1) Increased appreciation of STEM education and enrichment K-12;
2) Enhanced STEM education and enrichment opportunities;
3) Creation of a network of parents, community members and organizations and businesses involved in the STEM fields;
4) Creation of opportunities for educators and students to collaborate and partner with STEM leaders in the business, industry and higher education sectors;
5) Meaningful exposure of students to STEM career paths and connection of students to insightful real world mentor relationships, internships etc.;
6) Participation by students in selective endeavors involving research, innovative problem-solving & STEM related expos and competitions;
7) Enhanced support of the professional endeavors of educators and others interested in STEM education and enrichment; and
8) Obtaining of grants and other funding to support the Alliance's mission and STEM activities.

Breaking down the digital divide one laptop at a time.

Here are just a few of the community members who have received laptops from The STEM Alliance through our digital equity programs in the last two months.

Having access to a reliable computer opens possibilities and futures. Suddenly it’s easier to apply for jobs, complete schoolwork on time, access government resources, and stay connected with loved ones. Owning a device is so much more than just getting online, it lets people OWN their futures.

Yesterday was the first day of our Shoreline Explorers after-school program, and our young, intrepid explorers were already discovering marine life and the shoreline ecosystem at the Marine Education Center! 🐚

Good news! We still have a couple spots open for Wednesdays for K–2nd graders.
Each week, kids will investigate the shoreline, meet live marine animals, keep biology field notebooks, create sea-inspired art, and discover what the tide brings in. It’s a fun way to keep kids curious, active, and learning outdoors!

- Lead fundraising strategy, cultivate relationships with donors and partners, and help secure the philanthropic support that makes our STEM education and digital equity work possible.

Director of Program Outreach & Marketing
- Build new partnerships, grow fees-for-service contracts, strengthen client relationships, and expand access to The STEM Alliance’s programs across STEM education, Summer Enrichment, and Digital Equity.

Last Thursday, we celebrated 7 more women who graduated from our Women Advancing Through Technology program (WATT), hosted by our partners at Mount Vernon Public Library.💻✨

From learning new tech skills to tackling challenges together, this group showed up, put in the work, and made the most of every session.

One participant said, “My second week in WATT, I went to a job interview, and I got a callback! I took an online exam based on what I learned in class and got 100%. I even received a grant to go to school!”

We’re so proud of all they have and will accomplish! Some of their plans include growing in a customer service career, selling their artwork online, pursuing more advanced special education roles, and more!

Congratulations to our newest WATT graduates! We can’t wait to see what they do next! 🎉

As students head back to school, having the right tools can make all the difference.

Last week, Jennifer and her 12-year-old son, Omar, came to The STEM Alliance office to pick up two free Chromebooks.

Omar is starting at a new middle school, ready for homework, new experiences, and maybe even a Roblox club along the way. His mom, Jennifer, is beginning a new chapter of her own: returning to college to pursue a nursing degree. Without a computer at home, she was preparing to spend long hours studying at the library, bringing Omar along with her.

Now, both have a computer of their own. That is what access can do. It can turn a barrier into a beginning.

Every student deserves the tools to take the next step, whether they are starting middle school, applying to college, or returning to the classroom years later.
