Pure sweetness on V Day❤️ when we happened to wear kinda the same outfit to yoga.

Kind of ironic. 24 years ago, this photo of my leg for a trade mag ad for DuPont Lycra, before the birth of Lululemon and the whole yoga/fitness clothing boom. Ironic that I would spend the rest of my life in this type of clothing. Imagine a world without Stretch fabric? Almost like a world without a phone!

This photo, taken by Kenji Tomaa, took about 4 hours. Just this one shot, same leg, in a lunge on the ball of the foot moving a fraction of an inch up and down as lighting and camera angles, lenses were adjusted over and over…and sweat continually wiped off. A grueling workout to just hold a pose for a loooong time. Eventually I gave in and held on to scaffolding erected above me to hold onto.

As to the message written on my thigh, I’d say now that, YOGA boosts strength force and endurance and is a superfood for all athletes and movement artists. Holding poses builds tenacity and resilience. Come and take class with me!
