The SMTC team was excited to participate in yesterday's Give Day Tips & Tricks event hosted by the University of Wyoming Foundation.

Last year, we were honored to receive the Most Improved Give Day Campaign Award, and we were thrilled to share what we learned with other UW units preparing for their own campaigns.

But our success would not have been possible without the incredible SMTC community and supporters who showed up, shared our message, and helped us reach our goals. We are so grateful for everyone who continues to believe in and support STEM education across Wyoming. 💙

The SMTC was excited to collaborate with Teton Science Schools to help facilitate a place-based professional learning day with elementary teachers from Albany County School District #1.

Part of the day was spent with 2nd- and 3rd-grade teachers exploring and learning at Pilot Hill in Laramie, connecting place-based experiences to classroom learning.

We love getting teachers outside and connecting STEM learning to the places and communities they know! 🌱🔎

We had a great time attending the Native American Education Conference today!

One of today’s sessions, “Resources for Learning about Wind River Basin Water, Buffalo, and People,” brought together some wonderful voices and perspectives through the WyAct partnership.

We were grateful to hear from Colleen Friday of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, Albert Mason Jr. of the WR Tribal Buffalo Initiative, and Clare Gunshenan and Martha Inouye from the Science and Math Teaching Center as they shared resources and knowledge connected to the Wind River Basin, water, buffalo, and the people and communities who call this region home.

It was a thoughtful conversation and a great reminder of the value of learning directly from the people and organizations doing this work.
