There is a multi-agency training scenario in the area of 4th Street and Shields for most of the day today. There will be a large presence of police and fire vehicles. There is no threat to public safety. This is just a training exercise.

As the winter months decrease a child’s opportunities to stay active, it is important to provide a variety of activities for children to get the exercise they need to stay healthy. The Wyoming Territorial Prison is having their annual Lights on the Range event tonight (12/13) and Saturday, 12/14! The event is free and includes hot chocolate while supplies last. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1424579485417131&set=a.890923908782694

It’s that time of year! Our annual “Lights on the Range” holiday light show starts tomorrow! Come park in the lot after it gets dark, turn on the radio, and enjoy the show! The show will run every night from Nov. 30th until Jan. 10th.

This year’s Holiday Light Trail will be Dec. 13 - 14, 5:30pm - 7:30pm both nights! You’ll get to explore the lights for yourself, see the prison at night, and do a scavenger hunt!

Are you looking for something to do with the kids tonight? The annual Laramie Holiday Parade and Train Lighting starts with a Holiday Expo at 5:00 p.m. in the Train Depot. Santa will make an appearance at the train lighting at the Depot Park at 6:00 p.m. and the parade starts at 6:30 p.m. on Second and First Streets!

Our Readers & Writers Series is a monthly literary event at LEAF where we provide a stage for kids, staff, and guest readers to come up to the mic and read a favorite poem or short story to an audience. The R&WS has been going strong for just over 2 years with our first reading on September 28, 2022. For our “Friendsgiving” unit this month, we read and discussed The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. We learned that sometimes we can give or take too much in a friendship and that our exchanges need to have a healthy balance. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Our monthly Readers & Writers Series for November will feature a reading by local children's author, Crystal Ballard. Ballard will be reading from her book Chuck Marley's Crooked Day. There will be door prizes, a book signing, and books available for purchase at the event on 11/29/23.
