Join us for the U.S. Economy, Monetary Policy, and Agriculture Seminar on September 23rd!

Senior Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Nate Kauffman will be discussing the Fed's perspective on key developments shaping the U.S. economy and monetary policy, with a particular focus on agriculture. Topics will include current economic trends, emerging issues affecting the agricultural sector, and structural changes influencing agriculture. Kauffman will also discuss how economic research and industry engagement help inform the Federal Reserve’s understanding of economic conditions.

The seminar was arranged by UW Senior Extension Educator John Hewlett and provides an opportunity to hear directly from a Federal Reserve economist whose work focuses on the intersection of agriculture and the broader economy.

Dr. Bastian has been selected as the inaugural Doug and Deniz Stark Ranch Management and Agricultural Leadership Professor!

With more than 100 refereed journal articles, numerous awards, and a career dedicated to agricultural research, teaching, and outreach, Dr. Bastian is highly deserving of this honor.

The Doug and Deniz Stark Ranch Management and Agricultural Leadership Professorship was established to support UW faculty who contribute to ranch management and agricultural leadership and to help advance the future of agriculture in Wyoming.
