Laramie Montessori Charter School

Laramie Montessori Charter School Laramie Montessori School is a tuition-free charter school serving students from Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Our curriculum promotes personal responsibility, understanding of the world and themselves, as well as teaching a life-long love of learning. We teach in multi-grade classrooms which promote responsibility, mentoring and leadership. Our teachers are Board Certified teachers with their teaching degree as well as the Montessori Certification, a two year minimum process, for the grade levels in their classroom. All of our staff is trained and certified in CPR/First Aid, CPI, and all other trainings mandated by the State of Wyoming. We provide support for IEPs, 504s and Title students. Our lunch and breakfast program is through ACSD #1 and is tied into the Free and Reduced Meal Program. Bus transportation both to and from school is available. We have a school counselor available for students. Our specials available to students (depending on availability and COVID) are: Band, Choir, Art, Music, Garden, Keyboarding, Physical Education, Life Skills, Library, Robotics, Theater, and Social/Emotional Learning. During COVID we are providing both in school and Classroom Based Virtual Instruction. We try to make the CBVI as 'in class' as possible using Zoom to keep students at home from feeling isolated. In person sanitation and mask wearing procedures are in place for students and staff to make sure we have a safe environment for everyone. We try to keep everything as normal as possible while still adhering to DoH guidelines.

Families and staff at Laramie Montessori really let their love of reading "shine bright" at the first ever "Let's Glow Read a Book" event back in February! Activities included glow in the dark literacy games, prizes, face paint, snacks, and guest author Dr. Mandy Jairell! Special shout out to our Title 1 Lead Extraordinaire, Amy Makenzie! She put in countless hours to make this event a smashing success! Every child received a free book, to keep the love of reading "glowing" at home!
