Just spent a wonderful and rewarding long weekend in Dubois, WY.

I recently completed the intensive training to qualify as a coach for Wyoming's Veterans Talking to Veterans program. I will be providing coaching and facilitation services to a new VTTV group we are forming at University of Wyoming under the sponsorship of the UW Veteran's Support Center and a new group that will be established here in Laramie to support Veterans not affiliated with UW.

Many distinguished guests spent quite a bit of time with us on Saturday ... including Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon (who graciously gave more than four hours of his time); Mr. Tim Shepperd, Executive Director and program manager of the VTTV program from the Wyoming Commission on Veteran's Services; Mr. Henry Huntley, the Executive Director of State, Local, and International Engagement at the US Department of Veterans Affairs, who traveled from the VA Headquarters in Washington, DC and conveyed his own and the VA Secretary's congratulations; representatives of both Wyoming's US Senators; the Director of the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching; and the founders and staff of Mentor Agility, who are executing the Governor's strategy to reduce Veteran su***de.

It is the staff of Mentor Agility -- founders Dr. Julie Elledge and Mr. Robin Elledge, instructors and ICF Certified Coaches Mr. Ryan Elledge and Reverend Alice Ford -- who created the vision and energized the entire community of Veterans and Veterans' Service Organizations, to make this amazing program a reality.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, with special thanks to the Episcopal Church of Cheyenne, WY, as well as a special mention of the Big Wind Singers of Crowheart for their inspiring performance of their Flag Song during the raising of the US Flag, reminding us of the history and sacredness of the land on which we stood, the love for the flag in whose shadow we stood, and the importance of the nation we served for generations in peace and war.

Most of all, my personal thanks and congratulations to my fellow newly certified VTTV coaches and the past certified coaches who provided advice, motivation, and mentoring to us and were there to welcome us all into a new opportunity to serve our nation and fellow veterans.

Sylt joined the team/family a week ago and traveled up to Dubois, WY for a Veteran's Services Fair and graduation ceremony for new coaches in Wyoming's Veterans Talking to Veterans program.

She really did some great work for being new in the job ... bringing peace and healing to Veterans and spouses of Veterans during the event.

I'm so very happy she is with me, and she validated the feeling I got from her at our first meeting. She is doing wonderfully well and I'm looking forward to a long and meaningful partnership with her.

Thank you to Cambria and the trainers and volunteers at Dumb Friends League of Colorado for all you did for Sylt. She is every bit the remarkable horse you knew her to be.

Welcome to the Team -- Sylt, a beautiful sorrel mare who will be a leading coach and teaching partner at Rocky Mountain HorseDream.

She came to us from Dumb Friends League in Castle Rock, CO where she spent a year or so getting healthy and well. She spent an entire semester at Colorado State University in their Right Horse Program ... yep, she's a college grad!

Now that Sylt has agreed to come work with me (recruiting her was a high priority), we will be offering Wyoming:
--Equine Facilitated Learning services using Linda Kohanov's Eponaquest methods of instruction;
--Leadership and team building opportunities using the Horse Dream proprietary system created by Gerhard Jes Krebs and trained by Alyssa Aubrey at Medicine Horse Ranch; and
--Coaching services following the Hero's Journey Coaching Model created and trained by Julie Elledge at Mentor Agility, integrated with the experiential benefits that Equine Interactive Activities provides.

I was going to keep it to myself for a while ... but, I might be in love. She's tall, fit, long legs, red hair, and beautiful big dark eyes. And she likes me. I brushed her hair, gave her a little back rub, and shared a lovely walk with her ... we met on line and had our first "blind date" today, with a chaperone. Very old fashioned girl ... I'm thinking of asking her to move in with me. We're going to work together, coaching and working with veterans ... so we'll be spending a lot of time together soon!
