Yesterday, 11 members of the Laquey FFA joined over 800 Missouri FFA members and packed 252,564 meals for the Feeding Missouri Network at the Missouri State Fair this week! The Drive to Feed Kids began in 2017, enlisting the support of 4H and FFA members and other ag supporters to lessen the gap of food insecurity for Missouri children. They were joined by Governor Mike Kehoe and the Director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture Chris Chinn.

The members that attended from our chapter also viewed their own and other member's projects that were on display at the Missouri FFA Building.

Yesterday - 16 Laquey FFA members entered projects into the State Fair FFA Division! They will be judged over the coming days and we will see how they placed next Tuesday when we work Food Insecurity Day at the fair.

Yesterday, some of the Laquey FFA Officers attended the Area XIII Officer Training and Farm Tour in Willow Springs. While there, they learned some valuable lessons on leading their chapters and they won the travelling Area XIII Spirit Stick!

They also toured a local beef operation and learned about the use of electronic/gps controlled collars for movement and grazing management and observed how cattle are pregnancy-checked with portable ultrasound equipment.

Six Laquey FFA members attended State FFA Camp, which is held at the State Park on the Lake of the Ozarks. Some of the highlights were Zane Marlin, Laquey Vice President earned the State Leadership Award, Emma Robert, chapter Sentinel, was awarded the All-Around-Camper award, and Zane Marlin, Ross Brothers, and Ryder Kelley won the 3 v. 3 basketball tournament! Isaac Maynard served on the flag raising committee.

It was a great week at camp with a lot of swimming, good meals, surviving cabin inspections from Coach, and one shift of kitchen duty. The students may have been subjected to Mr. Rinck's banjo practice as well.

Congratulations Laquey FFA Chaplain - Maddie Sapp! Her rabbit is the Grand Champion at the Pulaski County Regional Fair 2026! She won $100 for this accomplishment.

She started her rabbit SAE project with a grant from the Fair Board her Freshman year, it's very cool to see the results of her work and dedication!

Today was set up day for the Pulaski County Fair which kicks off tomorrow. Corbin Johnson, Callie Martin, Carson Sapp, and Maddie Sapp, came out to lend a hand.

There were FFA members from Richland, Crocker, Dixon, Waynesville, and Newburg present today. They painted, set up the barn, installed barriers, prepped for the horticulture show, and many other things!!! The fair board was grateful to have the help!

Recently, some of the Laquey FFA members and Mr. Rinck visited the Little Ducks Childcare, LLC to teach about tools and safety.

The FFA members helped the students build and paint birdhouses and everyone pitched in to build a gumball dispenser! They enjoyed helping these children, and it was a great learning experience for the members as well. Thank you for the invite Sara Hendrix.

Hey FFA Members! Come out tomorrow and earn 3 FFA points at the set up day for the Pulaski County Fair. It starts at 9 a.m. at the barns. Bring work gloves and something to drink!

- Our shift to work ride-band and bull-ride check in is this Saturday, 5 - 9 pm 3 FFA Points
- Tri-County Fair set-up day is next Monday, June 22nd at 8 am 3 FFA Points

Reminders!

I am still looking/needing some helpers on Thursday to finish the birdhouses we started today. They will be painting and we will help them build a bubble gum dispenser! Be at Little Ducks Daycare at 9 am if you can help, please let me know if you need a ride.

One week from today is the set-up day for the Pulaski County Regional Fair, June 16th at 9 am. Please make plans to come help if you can. Helping with the fair will be worth FFA Points, don't fall behind! Our chapter is signed up to do ride band and bullride ticket check-ins at the fair on Saturday 5 - 9 pm.
