We are excited to announce Shaun Pluta as our new Director of Human Resources!

Shaun's career has come full circle. He began as an elementary teacher and school counselor before spending more than a decade leading human resources for major Indiana employers, where he built a reputation for strengthening workplace culture and supporting employees. Now he's bringing that experience back to public education.

"Returning to public education feels like coming home," Shaun says. "I look forward to serving the staff and families of La Porte."

Shaun steps into the role as we celebrate Gina T***s, who is retiring after 19 years of dedicated service to our district. Gina, thank you for your incredible commitment to the people of LPCSC. We wish you all the best in retirement!

Congratulations to six outstanding LPCSC employees whose retirements were approved at this week's board meeting. They were added to the list of retirees ending their tenure at our school district this year.

Barb Hines, Bus Driver, 13 years
Jim Hines, Bus Driver, 12 years
Sue Parsons, Bus Driver, 47 years
Dawn Slocum, Bus Driver, 15 years
John Sherrick, Chemistry Teacher, La Porte High School, 30 years
Kelly Troy, Teacher, Kesling Intermediate School, 30 years

Thank you for your years of dedicated service to our students, our schools, and our community. All six of our retirees will be formally honored at the 2027 LPCSC Employee Recognition event.

Boys and Girls Club of La Porte County still has spots available at the Kesling Campus for their free Summer Learning Lab program.
