Here’s a little update on our sweet corn and pumpkin patches.

Congratulations to our three LaPorte chapter members representing their respective barns in the 2026 Supreme Showmanship contest at the Great LaPorte County Fair! Good luck to Brock, Harlow, and Ophelia!

Those working the petting zoo that are NOT in 4-H, your names will be at the gate (if you signed up before today). Give the attendant your name and that you are working the FFA petting zoo and they should let you in. If there are any issues please reach out to Ms.England.

Those hoping to go to Natty Con this year may want to consider signing up for a shift or two. You may bring a friend to sit with you.

We still have timeslots to fill, we are only asking that you work 2 1/2 hour shifts and if you can only work one that is okay! Please sign-up if you are available, you are free to hang out at the fair before and after you shift. My non 4-H members if you would like free entry to the fair please sign-up by Tuesday the 7th.
Sunday 12th: 10-12:30
Wednesday 15th: 3-5:30 & 5:30-8
Thursday 16th: 5:30-8
Friday 17th: 10-12:30 & 12:30-3 & 5:30-8
Saturday 18th: 3-5:30 & 5:30-8

I also need a couple people willing to work the FFA booth with me on Friday.

Last week was a busy one.

Monday, Dylan and Hayden competed down at state with their Ag Mech Demo.

Tuesday, we had our summer meeting where we discussed the petting zoo and planted pumpkins alongside out sweet corn patch.

Wednesday, we braved the storm and made the trek to state convention. Here the students were able to talk with ag companies and schools, do a team building workshop, and watch 3 of our graduated seniors recieve their Hoosier degrees. Hoosier degrees are the highest FFA honor that the state can hand out and we had three students recieved it this year. Congrats to Ella, Mia, and Noah! We are proud of what you were able to accomplish and cannot wait to see what comes next.

The we finished off the week with a couple SAE visits.
