Tick-tock… the tank is almost empty! FairEntry closes TOMORROW, June 12 for the 2026 LaPorte County Fair!

If you’re entering fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or other small animals, or submitting Exhibit Hall projects, this is your final day to get everything in before the deadline swims away! 🐟

🐠 Don’t let your entries drift to the bottom of the tank
🐹 Don’t leave your projects stuck in the cage unfinished
⚠️ Be sure everything is entered AND hit SUBMIT when complete!

Because once the deadline passes, there’s no “emergency fish net” for FairEntry 😆

The LaPorte County 4-H Horse Judging Team recently traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete at the Pinto World Youth Competition. This marks the team’s third trip to the prestigious national event, where they had the opportunity to test their skills against top youth judging teams from across the country.

This year’s team included two members competing as first-year seniors, adding valuable experience as they continue to develop their judging careers.

After a competitive day of judging, the team earned the following placings:

• 9th Place – Performance
• 12th Place – Reasons
• 12th Place – Overall
• 15th Place – Halter

As a coach, I could not be more proud of this hardworking group of young people. Their dedication, willingness to learn, and commitment to improving their skills continue to impress me. Each team member approaches every practice and competition with a positive attitude and a strong desire to achieve their judging goals.

The season is far from over. The team now sets its sights on the Buckskin World Championship, followed by the Indiana State 4-H Horse Judging Competition, and culminating with the All American Quarter Horse Congress. We look forward to seeing what this talented group accomplishes next.

Congratulations to your team—placing in the top 12 overall at a world-level competition is an impressive accomplishment.

Join the New Durham 95’ers on June 20 from 10 AM - 12 PM at the New Durham Township Fire Dept. for a car wash that gives back!

🛝 All proceeds will support building a Gaga Ball Pit for the Westville Elementary playground.

Come out, get your vehicle shining, and support a project that will bring smiles and recess fun for years to come! ❤️

Livestock exhibitors — this is your reminder! Your YQCA Certificate must be submitted to the Extension Office by Thursday, June 12 in order to show at Fair.

🐮 If you completed the in-person Quality Livestock Care Training with Kelsey, you’re all set — we already have your certificate on file!

💻 Still need to complete YQCA? Visit yqcaprogram.org to complete the training online.
