Did you know? Shannon is coming on February 16th!

Today’s Shannon Hale book spotlight is The Goose Girl from the Books of Bayern series. The first book, The Goose Girl, retells a Grimm fairy tale about a girl who can speak to geese and control the wind. She must learn how to live in a new city before she can become a princess.

Quote from the book: "If we don't tell strange stories, when something strange happens we won't believe it."

Fun Fact: The author rewrote this book over 30 times before she created a version she liked!
Fun Fact 2: The Goose Girl manuscript was rejected UNREAD by “dozens of agents”, then after Shannon found a publishing agent, it was rejected by 9 more agents. Here’s her advice on writing: “Just because your book or you or anything you do is rejected by some, doesn't mean it's no good trash for everybody. Stick with it, writers! …It will come. Be patient, keep writing. You are a warrior. “

Thanks to everyone who came out to join us this morning for Walk to School Day!

We appreciate the firefighters from the Lapoint-Tridell Fire Department, our school resource officer from the Uintah County Sheriff's Office, our school foods staff, and our media specialist for making this morning a great experience for our students and our community.

Don't forget! Our students, parents, and staff will be at the Lapoint Park on Friday from 8 am - 9 am.

JOIN US!
Buses will drop the kids off at the park at 8:00 am. Parents can park at the church and walk with their kids around the walking path. Our goal is to walk 1 mile together (3 laps around the path).
Finish with breakfast together, then the staff will walk the students across the street to school.
We look forward to seeing you!
