Mission Statement: The mission of Acorn Child Development is to provide children from our community the inspiration and opportunity to learn through exploration and creation via STEAM-based activities and to enjoy homemade natural meals and snacks, within a loving and safe learning environment. We provide care and instruction for children up to 5 years of age, Monday through Friday, with extended

morning and evening hours. Extended care services available for older children (before and after school care). We pride ourselves on low children-to-provider ratios, high quality food supplies, natural cleaning products, and directed instruction/play tasks. Acorn Child Development is conveniently located approximately 6 miles from I-69, with a short ten minute drive to central Lapeer and Davison. Our full STEAM classroom with Montessori-inspired design is nestled near mature woods and has a large vegetable garden onsite. Children will have opportunities to enjoy our playground area, nature walks, and our local wildlife (including our regular turkey and deer visitors)!

Yesterday we cracked open our new ChompSaw. It seemed to work super well and the kids gave it a try. We learned that thinner cardboard works best! Hopefully it holds up well with a lot of use! They also spent a lot of time doing the dam thing🤣
