Dear Countryside Montessori Families,

It is with a heavy heart that we share some difficult news. After 22 wonderful years of serving children and families in our community, Miss Bonnie will be retiring. Countryside Montessori will permanently close its doors at the conclusion of our Summer Session on August 21, 2026.

Over the years, we have been honored to play a role in the growth, development, and education of so many children. Watching our students learn, explore, and flourish has been one of the greatest privileges of our lives, and we are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us.

For more than two decades, we have celebrated milestones together, formed lasting relationships, and shared in the joy of helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The memories created within our classrooms will remain with us long after our doors close.

As we reflect on the past 22 years, our hearts are filled with gratitude. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your children's lives and for entrusting us with their care and education. Your support, kindness, and partnership have meant more than words can express.

While this chapter is coming to a close, the impact of the children and families who have been part of Countryside Montessori will remain with us always.

Thank you for being part of our story.

🌱 Self Correction in the Preschool Years: A Montessori Superpower ✨

One of the most empowering parts of Montessori education is the way materials are designed to let children discover their own mistakes without an adult stepping in right away. This built in self correction is a core Montessori principle.

When a child can see for themselves that a cylinder doesn’t fit, a bead is missing, or a pattern is off, something powerful happens:

• They build real confidence because success comes from their effort, not adult approval.

• They develop persistence, trying again because the process feels safe and self directed.

• They strengthen problem solving skills, noticing details and adjusting their approach.

• They learn intrinsic motivation, discovering the joy of “I figured it out!” 🎉

Montessori environments are about giving children the tools to think, notice, and grow at their own pace. And that quiet moment when a child corrects their own work? That’s independence taking root. 🌿
