In October your daughter was given information about Breast Cancer Awareness. In conclusion, last Friday the girls watched an age appropriate breast cancer movie and participated in a Breast Cancer Awareness walk! Please help with vocabulary discussed with your daughter. They will have a test this weeK.

Breast: A part of the body that both men & women have, a women’s breast produces milk & man’s breast do not.
Cancer: A disease that can make you sick or kill you.
Awareness: Understanding a problem & help others to understand the problem.
Lump: A bump or growth that can grow inside your breast.
Benign: A lump that does not have Cancer
Malignant: A lump that does have cancer.
Mammogram: A x-ray picture of the breast pthat can show a bump in the breast.
Mastectomy: surgery that takes off the breast.
Cure: Anything that makes the body healthy & not sick anymore.
