Important Information regarding the Storm Updates!
The Village of Lansing continues to respond to widespread damage and power outages following todayβs severe storms. According to ComEd, approximately 87% of Lansing customers are currently without power.
Public Works crews are assessing damage and clearing debris from public streets and rights-of-way. Crews are prioritizing public safety, emergency access and critical infrastructure before routine cleanup.
REPORT A DOWNED TREE: If a downed tree is blocking a public street or sidewalk, email [email protected] with the address.
If a tree is entirely on private property, residents should contact a private tree removal company. If your home or property was damaged, consider contacting your insurance company before cleanup or repairs begin.
Please do not call the Police Department, Public Works or Village Hall to report downed trees. Phone lines are experiencing a high volume of calls, and email reports will help crews track affected locations.
BE AWARE OF POST-STORM SCAMS: Be cautious of anyone who shows up at your home offering tree removal, repairs or cleanup services. Verify the person or company before agreeing to work, and do not provide personal or financial information or feel pressured to pay immediately. If you see suspicious activity, call 911.

Stay away from downed power lines and damaged areas, and give Public Works, ComEd and emergency crews room to work safely.
The Village will continue to provide updates as cleanup and power restoration efforts continue.
