In celebration of Women's History Month, authors and readers will present their work and the work of women writers from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in the Gannon Building Grand River Room, 1130.

This roster of writers for this year’s Women’s Literature Read-In includes award-winning writers Rosalie Petrouske, Laura Apol, Erin Bartels and Nan Jackson. Authors will be available to sign copies of their books. The TLC Library will also provide a book cart with works by women writers for checkout, and refreshments will be served. This year's event will be face-to-face and on Webex. Please join us!

Women's Literature Read-In 3/31
a Virtual Event

The Women's Literature Read-In will take place this year on Wednesday, March 31, to close Women's History Month.
As the program celebrates the work of women writers, authors and readers are invited to read their own work or the work of women/womyn/womxn/wymyn writers.

We will start at 11 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

Usually, we do not have a theme and this year will be no different. A selection from a work in progress or a published work, reflections on our time living with COVID this past year, current events, the many inequities in our society, accounts of the ordinary and extraordinary of our daily lives will provide a varied program of readings.

All topics and all genres are welcome. Readings for all audiences--children, YA, new adult, and adult, may be read. Readers can sign up for a 5-, 10-, 15-, or 20-minute period. Readers should prepare to briefly introduce themselves and the selection(s) they will read.
Many of you are published writers and I would like to create space in the program to spotlight your work. If you are open to a short Q&A session following your reading, please let me know so that I can schedule a few minutes more for you.

All readers should contact Professor Teresa Purvis by March 22nd at [email protected] or 517-483-1047. I will need your name, the title(s) and author(s) of the works you will read, the estimated amount of time needed within a range of availability (i.e. 15 minutes between 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.).

Please share this information with colleagues and students who may be interested in sharing their writing or the work of a woman writer.
