Watercolor Plein Air Painting at Woldumar Nature Center begins this Wednesday (June 10th) & there are only 2 SPOTS LEFT!

Teaching artist Rebecca Butler will guide you through techniques you can apply in this summer’s Plein Air series. During this four week class, students will meet at Woldumar Nature Center (5739 Old Lansing Road, Lansing) for a watercolor lesson and to paint the outdoors, while outdoors.

All supplies are provided, and you'll get to take home your watercolor and brushes to keep creating beyond the class!

Life drawing is BACK starting next Wednesday, June 10th!

At REACH, life drawing sessions offer a classic approach to building drawing skills through direct observation. You'll start with quick warm-up sketches and gradually move into longer poses of 10 minutes or more with our partially clothed model. Students work independently through the series of drawing exercises, guided by Teaching Artist Craig Horky, who is available to answer questions or provide feedback.

If you have never been to a life drawing class before, this type of class leans on personal artist expression and exploration, with limited intervention from the instructor. Join us for an inspiring environment to explore and create alongside other creatives!

All materials are provided for you to stand or sit at an easel. All are welcome, come as you are, no experience needed. Come to one or more sessions! Sessions have a hard limit of 10 participants and are first-come, first-served.

As the school year comes to a close, we are gearing up for a fun and full summer of art camp! There are just a few camp spots left in June (with many camps sold out), but July and August still have openings waiting for young artists to jump in. From drawing and collage to painting, sculpture, and more, there’s a perfect camp for every creative kid!

Come join our summer acrylic painting class, where you'll explore painting techniques, color mixing, and personal expression.

Artist and Teacher Rhonda Sherwin will allow you to enhance your style and expand your creative skills. Lessons for the summer will focus on Sunset and Sunrise landscapes to inspire a painting. Whether you’re a seasoned painter seeking community or an interested artist new to painting eager to learn, this class will be great for you!

July 15th - August 5th, 6:15pm - 8:00pm, Ages 14+

We are offering two sessions of Adult Clay this summer!

Join our clay studio community of adults interested in learning or practicing clay wheel throwing, hand-building, and glazing. Work at your own pace on projects of your choice while being guided by our incredible clay manager, Elizabeth on Tuesdays and our amazing instructor Dana Rothe on Wednesdays, in essential and specialized ceramic clay-working techniques and methods. All are welcome—come as you are, with no experience needed.

Whether this is your first class or you are a returning student, this is a place to create, grow your knowledge, and expand your experience with clay alongside other creatives.

Get ready to step into a magical world of your own creation in Fiber Fantasy Fun! In this summer camp, teaching artist Melly Kellogg will teach the basics of hand-sewing while guiding campers in developing a character and creating the foundation pieces for a fun fantasy costume. Campers will start by making hand-embroidered crowns, then move on to designing custom costume wings—anything from fairies to dragons and beyond! From planning to finished product, this camp is designed to inspire young sewists and show just how creative sewing can be.
