As I gear up for another incredible year as an educator, I'm excited to curate a growing collection of engaging lessons, classroom resources, and meaningful learning experiences that support human-centered, trauma-informed teaching while making computer science and computational thinking accessible to every learner.

One activity that will forever be one of my favorites is our [AI Album Cover Challenge].

What starts as a creative icebreaker quickly becomes an interdisciplinary learning experience where students explore:

✋🏾artificial intelligence,
✋🏾music theory sound waves, frequency + hertz
✋🏾digital creativity

and the ways technology shapes our everyday lives.

It's more than just designing an album cover! It’s about sparking curiosity, building confidence, encouraging self-expression and showing students that computer science is already woven into the world around them.

I can't wait to share more of the activities, frameworks, and resources that help create classrooms where students feel seen, challenged, inspired, and empowered to innovate. 💛💻🎵

Indianapolis Public Schools saw a 10.2% increase in proficiency in its 2024-2025 scores on the state's standardized IREAD test, with third-grade alone seeing proficiency rates soar nearly 70%. Today’s Michigan Conference was nothing short of inspiring!

Every session was jam-packed with knowledge, energy and actionable ideas. The synergy in the room was undeniable, and it was powerful to see so many educators committed to improving practices and preparing our youth to be future-ready with AI, computer science and innovation at the center.

This work starts with educators ensuring they have the right support, guidance and resources to lead boldly in their classrooms and communities. When we uplift teachers, we empower the next generation of leaders, creators and problem-solvers.

I left feeling energized and excited about the future we’re building together in Michigan and beyond. 🚀

Fresh off the ✈️ and straight to work!

September 1 marks the start of the Great Lock In! This month will be completely dedicated complete focus, resilience and consistency. 🔒✨

This month, I’m committing to following through on what truly matters: completing my capstone project, deepening partnerships with organizations that support my scholars and moving with discipline toward the vision I hold for myself and my community.

The Lock In isn’t just about isolation, it’s about alignment, intention, and building the future I deserve. 🚀
