"Plant Life Cycles" is a free lesson plan on the Curriculum Matrix, for grades 3-5.

Students investigate the stages of a flowering plant's life cycle and develop models to explain how plants grow and change over time.

Congratulations to Woodhaven-Brownstown School District for receiving a $1,600 Agents for Change grant! Nominated by Gilliam Insurance Services, grant funds were used to bring the FARM Science Lab (Michigan Agriculture in the Classroom) to Wegienka Elementary School and provide students with STEM-based agricultural lessons and a farm field trip experience.

Thank you Woodhaven-Brownstown School District and Gilliam Insurance Services for fighting childhood hunger through agricultural education!

"Harlem Grown: How One Big Idea Transformed a Neighborhood" by Tony Hillery is a book that supports agricultural literacy for young readers grades K-5.

Harlem Grown tells the inspiring story of how one man made a big difference in a neighborhood. After seeing how restless they were and their lack of healthy food options, Tony Hillery invited students from an underfunded school to turn a vacant lot into a beautiful and functional farm.
