Our sixth graders wrapped up another incredible year of learning, designing, building, and testing their prosthetic legs! This hands-on project would not have been possible without the amazing support of our community, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make it a success.
A huge thank you to our parents for donating materials and volunteering their time to assist with the build process. Your support helped bring this project to life!
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Tony Spagnuolo for sharing his personal story, helping our students develop empathy and understanding throughout the project, and for returning to cheer on and support the students during testing day.
Thank you as well to the professionals from Mary Free Bed for visiting our classrooms and giving students a behind-the-scenes look at the world of prosthetics. Their expertise, demonstrations, and hands-on learning opportunities allowed students to explore the many types of prosthetic devices and better understand how they work.
On Friday, students put their creations to the test. We're excited to report that every group was successful! We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, teamwork, and perseverance throughout this meaningful learning experience.
