Funded by the Michigan Beef Industry Commission through the Beef Checkoff, this grant program provides support to culinary schools across Michigan, helping students gain hands-on experience with beef and veal cutting, cookery, nutrition, and food safety.

In May, the winning ProStart Competition teams from Van Buren Tech, Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, and Wilson Talent Center attended the National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago.
The foodservice and hospitality industry event featured over 600 exhibitors, live culinary demonstrations, and industry highlights, including the latest menu trends and business-boosting technologies.

Last month, the winning Tabletop Design team from Wilson Talent Center at the 2026 Michigan ProStart Competition scored a stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island!
For this year's Tabletop Design theme, Spring Has Sprung, teams were tasked with four components: developing a menu, developing a table setting, presenting the table and answering critical-thinking questions about their table.
The winning team from Wilson Talent Center included Finney Clarkson and Ruby Kring. Congratulations, and thank you to the Grand Hotel for providing this amazing prize package and judges for the competition! 👏
