Post Oak Academy is the first school in mid-Michigan authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program. Post Oak and its staff are committed to the IB concept and are actively undertaking the rigorous authorization process. The Primary Years Program (PYP) is an international program that focuses on the whole child from an academic, social, physical, emotional, and cultural standpoint. Post Oak gives students an option of a 50/50 Chinese Immersion Program (where students in grades Pre-K to 5 learn half the day in English and half the day in Chinese, while students in grades 6-8 receive Mathematics, Social Studies, and Chinese Language Arts in Mandarin! Post Oak Academy is currently a School of Candidacy for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in grades 6-8.
