Join us for a Community Open House this fall, with refreshments and a guided tour of a different building each month before our Board of Education meetings.

Open Houses will run from 5:00-6:00pm and are open to students, staff, families, and all community members on the following dates:

Monday, September 21, Waverly High School
Monday, October 19, Waverly Middle School
Monday, November 16, C**t Early Childhood Education Center
Monday, December 7, East Intermediate School

Catch the 2026 Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 18th, starting at 5:30pm in the Waverly Middle School parking lot and ending on the other side of Waverly High School. The theme is "Generations".
After the parade, stay to watch the Warriors take on the DeWitt Panthers at 7:00pm. It's a great week to show your Warrior pride!

We all play a part in creating a safe learning environment for our students, and so we want to share that we have a new statewide emergency response system in place at Waverly Community Schools.

Our new Standard Response Protocol, created by the I Love U Guys Foundation, provides a set of terms and actions to use during an emergency. By using the same language across schools, law enforcement, and fire departments, everyone can respond more quickly and effectively.

The new protocol includes five simple actions:
1. HOLD: Students remain in their classroom area while normal operations/education continues in the building
2. SECURE: Students and staff remain safely inside the building while exterior doors are secured due to a potential concern outside the school
3. LOCKDOWN: Used when there is a threat inside or immediately affecting the school. Students and staff move to secure locations until first responders determine it is safe.
4. EVACUATE: Students and staff move to a designated safe location when it is necessary to leave the building.
5. SHELTER: Students and staff take specific protective actions based on the type of hazard, such as severe weather or another environmental emergency.

Our students will be introduced to each of these in an age-appropriate manner, and will practice them during safety drills throughout the school year. Please take time to review these with your student, and contact your building admin team if you have further questions.

C**t Early Childhood Education Center is getting ready to welcome preschool families at their open house this Wednesday, September 2nd, from 10am-12pm and 5pm-7pm.
We can't wait to see our youngest Warriors enjoying the new playground and project spaces, soon!

All bus route information has been sent to Waverly families through email. If you have not received your student's transportation information, please contact the Transportation Department at 517-321-1088 for assistance.

Teachers and staff from across the district came together this morning to prepare for the new school year at Waverly Community Schools' opening day.
Staff received pins in recognition for their years of service —including teacher Brenda Hinds​ who has completed 35 years at Waverly!
With all these incredible educators committed to serving our students, families, and community, we know it's going to be a great year for all our Warriors.
We can't wait to see students back on Monday, August 24th (for all schools except C**t Early Childhood Education Center, which starts after Labor Day)!
